International Self-Care Day
International Self-Care Day
Self-care is no longer a personal luxury – it is recognised as a core component of sustainable workforce performance. In fact, this global campaign suggests you should aim to practice self-care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – hence why Self-Care Day is celebrated annually on 24 July.
The World Health Organisation highlights self-care as critical to:
- Preventing burnout
- Managing stress and chronic conditions
- Reducing pressure on health systems
Key workplace insights
Burnout is now recognised as an occupational phenomenon.
In the UK & Ireland, stress and mental ill-health remain leading causes of absence.
Many employees still lack confidence to prioritise wellbeing during working hours.
